Transmission casting parts, like housings and cases, are crucial for vehicle power transmission, providing structural support and protection for gears, clutches, and other components. They are often made via die-casting aluminum alloy for strength and accuracy. 

Casting processes involve the use of molten material, usually metal. This molten material is then poured into a mould cavity that takes the form of the finished part. The molten material then cools, with heat generally being extracted via the mould, until it solidifies into the desired shape.

SG iron (Spheroidal Graphite Iron, also known as ductile or nodular iron) castings are used in transmission parts due to their superior strength, ductility, and wear resistance, achieved by treating molten iron with magnesium to form graphite nodules.
